Key achievements;

Turnaround of challenging and unfeasible projects.

Turned around a failing >$1B mining project in Australia. Significant reduction in establishment capital and increase in operating margins. Project delivered with further cost reduction in capital and considerably ahead of schedule with best in class production ramp up.

Capital portfolio structuring and management

Led the restructure and simplification of the capital portfolio approach and processes for the business. Lean approach adopted for corporate requirements and fit for purpose and scale approach adopted for each operating asset. Annual costs savings realised, progressive improvement of deliver schedules and particularly focused on progressing projects that optimise asset value.

New business projects pipeline development

Created a project development structure and process to progress new mining project developments (build approach) from initiation/acquisition through to operating assets. Strategic development pathways established and tracked for projects.

Major projects optimization and future thinking

Complex and challenging mineral development was resurrected. Assessed range of strategic options that addressed future thinking, technologies, and collaboration for development. Over time stakeholders turned around from opponents to advocates for mineral resource development in the region. Vision created of potential for multigenerational collaborative balance of mineral economic and wilderness activities in the region.
